it's the starships that do it for me
children of dune - leto 1
Okay, I cannot stop watching the new(est) Star Trek trailer. I have this strange, sick feeling I am going to like, cry in the theatre just seeing the credits or something. I mean, it's not like this would be a surprise.

For the five people who haven't seen it yet Go to Trailer 3.

Just. I mean. Why the hell isn't it May? Why isn't it May?

(Also, after describing the current story I am working on to niqaeli, she was silent for like a full second before gleefully shouting "IT IS LORD KING BAD FIC" and yes. Yes, it is. And it is like, eleven thousand words of it. There's a very real part of me that really thinks I could totally get someone pregnant just to see what would happen.)

Spaceships, man. Spaceships!

And I still fail to see how getting someone pregnant is supposed to be a bad thing. I've done it. Arthur didn't seem to mind much.

... you know, Kirk has pretty good hips. Er.

I judge a man on how good he looks bloody.

....what? It's a legitimate test!

It's the John McClane school of sexiness.

Is there any other school?

Yes, but those all wish they were as sexy as McClane. (There is the slightly paradox sexy!dork school, and the "just showered but forgot how to dry off school of artistically displayed moisture")

What? Kirk or the fic? I'll send it to you if you like. IF IT WILL NOT DISTRACT YOU FROM THE FIC THAT YOU OMG HAVE TO FINISH.

I have seen the new trailer, and I am still trying to figure out if Pike's "Your father was captain of a starship for 12 minutes" line means Final Frontier is magically (bizarrely) now canon.

Either way, tho...

Crap I have Final Frontier. I need to go re-read it.

Is that Cameron from House as Winona? I paused it and I swear it was.

I just re-read Strangers frm the Sky, Vulcan's Glory, and Uhura's Song, to remind myself of all the TOS I loved. Final Frontier is next. CAPTAIN ROBERT APRIL. I LOVES HIM. OMG.

Oh, I love Final Frontier so much! I thought about that as soon as Pike said that.

Every single time I hear the whole "to boldly go" speech I cry. Big, bawling crying. OF JOY. So yeah, just seeing the opening is gonna be tears for me. XD I am not even that into Star Trek! I just have this huge, painful love for the universe! Also a huge, painful love of Kirk! :D

Lord King Bad Fic -- hee!

I just wrote a short piece of fic which is totally wish-fulfillment. I mean, it's a pwp coming straight from my id. There is nothing redeeming about it at all. It's one of those old hoary classic clichés. But you know what? I don't care! Because it was really fun to write, and hopefully it will be fun to read, even if it has no redeeming literary value. *g* So I support your LKBF on principle.

ETA: and yes, I am totally going to weep buckets as soon as I hear the opening notes of the theme music in the theatre when the ST movie finally comes out. OMG. :-)

. There's a very real part of me that really thinks I could totally get someone pregnant just to see what would happen.

Bonus points if it's Uther! :P

Okay, there's something wrong with me that the thought of Uther mpreg immediately starts me worrying about the succession and, "But we already have Morgana as Arthur's quasi-sister!" Unless of course the baby turned out to be Morgause, which would be somewhat redundant with Morgana but at least less of a jarring departure from canon. Because mpreg is of course perfectly fine.

I got hit by it when I was watching Heroes on Monday and I spent the next hour making longing whimpering noises because it wasn't May yet!

It needs to be May. *fervent*

Holy shit! Being one of the five people in the world who *always* is behind the times, I hadn't seen this most recent one. a;ldkfnd;lkfdnasdlfkm!!!!

I got chills. And yeah, I'm pretty sure I'll tear up, too. Lots of layers of memories, piled on top of the sheer awesome dreaming-reaching-boldy-going-ness of it.

Ooh, why isn't it May indeed? Between this and the new Wolverine movie, I will implode before May ever gets here.

Oh, and also...

Since I know you've been waiting... NBC has officially announced the Merlin "Series Premiere Sunday, June 21st 8/7c"! Heeeeee....

I haven't watched the second trailer and I'm already shipping Kirk/Spock when I certainly didn't before.

I want to see this movie. Now. Slowly. In small pieces. So I can savour each bit.

Haven't been watching trailers online, which means that one of the highlights of my Watchmen experience was not realizing I was seeing a Star Trek trailer before it until the kid gave his name as James Tiberius Kirk.

And I've been contemplating taking the premiere day off for the Wolverine movie so I can A) have a three-day weekend but most especially B) go to the midnight premiere and not have to get up and go to work the next day.
