The universe just got exponentially more awesome. How did I not see this before?

LOLCode

I can totally sit here and love this with all my heart. The internet is made of win.

I kind of sat there and stared in wonder, because--oh my God. That is so. Damn. Cool.

Now I want .NET to use "AWSUM THX" and "O NOES" for exception handling.

How did I not know about this?!

AWSUM THX

I spend the last few minutes reading the language specification, and there is so much AWESOME there:

Best things up until now:

Multiline comments, like /* and */ in C, start with OBTW and end with TLDR.

LOLCODE has data types, and for example the type for boolean variables is TROOF, which can have exactly two values (for true and false, of course): WIN and FAIL.

Untyped variables have the type NOOB.

I'm quoting language specs at my husband and he does. not. get. the awesome. So now I'm quoting them at you. Because you made my day with this. It's only fair. KTHXBYE

That is made of win. And lol.

IT IS. Just reading it made my day like, bright.

The world, it is awesome.

This pleases me down to the bottom of my geeky, code-lovin' heart.

Just...YES!

Omg I love that. *considers slipping some LOLCODE into her next Perl script*

TOTALLY SO WARM AND FUZZY. *happy*

GEEKS RULE!!! I'm so hiding this in a script somewhere on our website.

*glee many times over*

*Squee*

This just AWESOMENESS!!!!! I'm so going to be sending this out to all my geeky friends!

Not the first language like this out there but it definitely amuses me more than most.

...I'm just having flashes of COBOL, though. Programming languages are not actually better when they resemble English--then you *do* get non-programmers using them and writing ungodly amounts of legacy code that is horribly *stupid* in its structuring. But I'm sure you've heard about what a bad idea COBOL is in class already! :P

Also, at first? I totally thought it was going to be something like geekcode. *g*

Yeah, isn't it teh best? I am sorry you have been deprived of knowing about it 'til now - it makes me so so tickled that the internet does this sort of thing spontaneously!
