Small Meme Repository

It has occurred to me that fandom lacks a good Meme Repository.

By that, I mean, a place which stores all our meme ideas. The Unpopular Fannish Opinion! The Apology! The--other ones. Favorite fic! Etc!

So I tagged--some of mine to meme. And made a list. Because I'm feeling distinctly anal. Now: add please? And link to an example.

Caveat: The Love Meme and Hate Meme aren't individual entry but group work. I'm thinking the ones we do in our own ljs.

Caveat 2: Dates and genealogy provided are specific to me, as in when I did them, which was usually within a week of it making the rounds. If you have info on origin, variations, etc, feel free to correct me.

The Small But Eventually Will Be Larger Meme Record
(or, what to do when you're bored and really don't want to work on fic)

Title: Fanfic Quote Meme
Variations: Group and individual.
Date: June 15, 2002
Genealogy: origin - 3jane
Link: origin -

What's your favourite line from a fic? Not your own, mind -- someone else's. What makes you laugh? Choke? What pulled your heartstrings just right? What stops you every time you read?

Title: Te's Five Story Meme
Date: October 12, 2002
Genealogy: origin - thete1

Verbatim from my lj:

But what *I* wanna know is this: what do you think your last five completed stories say about you, if anything?

Title: Fic Critique Meme

1b) Why or why not?
1c) What do you remember most about it?

2) What story of mine do you like the best?
2a) Why?
2b) What separates it from the other stuff I wrote?
2c) What separates it from other stories like it?

3) What story of mine do you like the *least*?
3a) Why?
3b) What separates it from the other stuff I wrote?
3c) What separates it from other stories like it, if anything?

4) What about my writing style grabs you?
4a) What stories exemplify this style?

5) What type of story (not which characters) would you like to see me write?

6) Is there a specific character or situation you'd like to see me try my hand at?
6a) Why do you think I'd be good at it?

7) Is there anything, in your experience, that you think would help me fix a specific flaw in my writing?

Title: One Hundred Things Meme
Date: December 11, 2002
Genealogy: gakked from thete1

Basically, pick 100 things about yourself to post. I don't have a lot more context for that one.

Title: End of Year Meme
Date: December 30, 2002
Genealogy: sparcck

Questions verbatim from my lj:

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2002?

What's your favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest.

Did you take any writing risks this year? (See above for unexpected pairings, etc.) What did you learn from them?

Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?

Title: First Lines (or paragraphs) of Last Ten Finished Fic (reverse order)
Date: January 3, 2003
Genealogy: slodwick and musesfool

Title says it all, really.

Title: Fictional Apology Meme
Date: February 21, 2003
Genealogy: boniblithe

Apologies to the fictional characters for the abuse you have heaped on them in teh last year/period of time/last week/etc. Link to fic where character was abused, how he was abused, and justify your reasoning.

I really love reading this one a lot.

Title: The DNR/InstaRead List
Date: May 9, 2003
Genealogy: cara_chapel

*squints* Seems to be a list of probably supposed to be ten things that DNR (do not read) a fic and ten things you instaread. I think. That's what it looks like. We'll go with that.

Title: Writer Crush Meme (unTitled, a guess)
Date: May 26, 2003
Genealogy: uncited

Set of questions, listed below.

Writer you most wish wrote your genre or OTP

Writer you did a dance of joy when you got feedback from

Writer you would read pretty much anything they wrote

Writer you admire from afar/would love to get feedback from

Writer(s) who have most influenced your style in some way

Writer you most want to meet and chat fic with

Writer you most want to meet and chat smut with

And finally, along the "bulletproof kink" (TM Te) lines, story that still turns you on no matter how many times you read it

Title: 20 Anonymous Comments on LJ Users
Date: June 6, 2003
Genealogy: uncited

*squints* In this particular form, it seems to be picking twenty people you friended and saying something nice about them anonymously, then letting them randomly guess which one they are?

Title: Why I Friended You Meme
Date: June 7, 2003
Genealogy: uncited

You post asking people if they want to know why you friended them. Then you tell them. It's a lot harder than one might think. I think I have three volumes of this.

Title: Ten Things That Annoy You About Fandom (I think?)
Date: November 19, 2003
Genealogy: uncited

Er. Ten things that annoy you about fandom. I think.

Title: Ask Me a Question/Getting to Know You Meme
Date: December 26, 2003
Genealogy: jmtorres

Pulled verbatim from my post:

I know very little about some of the people on my friends' list. Some people I know relatively well. I read your fic, or we have something else in common and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you.

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she likes spinach." (anyone who comments to say only that you like spinach shall be thwapped. unless, of course, that's the only thing of interest about you. but if you're just doing it to be smartass... *G*)

Hmm. To compensate, ask me any one question, if you wish, and I'll answer it as best I can.

Basically, people ask fannish questions, you answer.

Title: Tell Me What to Create Anonymeme!
Variations: Can be done individually or in group. This one is the group version.
Date: January 18, 2007
Genealogy: wickedwords

Verbatim from post:

The rules are simple. You comment with your username, and people can tell you what they want to see you write. Or draw, or vid, or icon, whatever. Despite the name, they don't have to do it anonymously, though of course they certainly can. You then go through the comments and if you see that person who you've always wanted to write a Green Arrow AU set in the Terror, where Ollie is a Scarlet Pimpernel-esque figure, smuggling people out of Paris, then you tell them that they should write it.

Artists/writers/vidders are under no obligation to actually create these things, of course. But those memes are always fun when they go 'round and, well, I don't know about you, but I have no shame left and am fully willing to call a spade a spade: TELL ME WHAT TO WRITE, PLEASE!

Title: Unpopular Fandom Opinions
Date: unavailable
Genealogy: unavailable
Link: unavailable

Ten personal fannish opinions you have that you feel would not be popular in your fandom.

Huh. I know there are more, but yeah. Will search more later.
