Turned in my program today, so didn't actualy need to stay in the lab, but in class, we learned about strings, and I wanted to see what I could do along the lines of bells and whistles with this program. I think I'll make an extra copy of the source and use it to add/practice what I learn and can add to it.

Okay, may be interested, may not be. But IT WAS SO MUCH FUN.

I mean--good at something like *this*, and because I enjoy it even though it's not writing. And God, I love writing, and this is some of the same feeling of experimentation and accomplishment.

Okay, link is http://jenn.talkoncorners.net/projects/

Click on firstcode.exe for the original that we copied from the book.

This one is a basic enter current weekly salary, enter raise rate, get new weekly pay after raise. For raise rate, enter the percent in decimal.

For the second, click on firstcodevariation1.exe,which is what I added during the lab to play around with the original and see what I could do with it. It was fun. A lot of it was being able to display information, but also a lot of it was the sheer enjoyment of adding bells and whistles. I like bells and whistles. A lot.

I am having way too much fun. Also am trying to debate writing something tonight. I feel very good.

Feelings pre-coding: Hey, this shouldn't be too bad, right? :D
Feelings during coding: OMGGG WORK, YOU STUPID THING. PLEASE. KILL. ME. Q_Q
Feelings post-coding: \o/!!!!!!!!!!

And that? Is exactly the Three Stages of Programming.

*grins*

When I finish this current job and go back to Uni to do Chemistry and (more) Computing? It's. All. Your. Fault. No, really. *headdesk*

*makes note to actually dig out computing notes tonight*

This is how "coding runs" happen. It's not working, but you can see how it _could_. And then progress is so visible. And perfect functioning achievable. If you just... remain glued to your keyboard for another five hours or so!

Are you coding in Java or...? Also have you gotten to loops yet? Arrays?
